Last night, Oliver “learned” the hard way why it is a bad idea to “surf” on the rocking ottoman in his nursery. I use quotes around “learned” because, although the tumble was enough to keep him off the ottoman for the remainder of the evening, I have no doubt my fearless climber is simply regrouping for an even more daring attempt tonight. Unfortunately for us, Oliver’s crazy adventurous nature is completely untempered by any rational sense of fear (a trait my grandma will tell you was quite clearly inherited from my father).
P.S. I am sure Oliver would want me to mention that he managed to balance, impressively upright, on the wildly rocking piece of furniture for a solid ten seconds before his face was introduced to the hardwood floor.
