And That’s Why We Don’t Allow Cantaloupe in Our Home

Vik knows how much I hate to waste money, so I guess he decided that he would put the $85 we spent on Infant/Child First Aid and CPR to good use by first feeding Oliver a piece of cantaloupe,* and then using the techniques we learned in that class to expel said cantaloupe from Oliver’s throat.

Oliver was unfazed by the incident, and in fact was smiling and laughing at everyone present less than two seconds after the drama unfolded. Vik, on the other hand, is still recovering.

The Offending Fruit

* Vik was not so much feeding Oliver cantaloupe as he was letting him suck on it while Vik held it. We were all surprised that Oliver was able to gum off and swallow (or, rather, attempt to swallow) a chunk of the “death fruit.”
