Phew! Apologies for the unplanned blogging hiatus, but the last few weeks have been quite hectic. I promise to spend the next several days catching everyone up on Oliver’s big adventures.
We’ll start with two weekends ago. My lovely baby younger sister, Sarah, graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and our entire immediate family drove out from Virginia for the festivities. It was a really exciting weekend because in addition to celebrating Sarah’s big achievement, everyone (except my Mom and Sarah, who came to visit soon after he was born) got to meet Oliver for the very first time!
My older brother, Robby (AKA Bubba), and his family stayed with us overnight on their way to Madison, and I have to say that Uncle Bubba is probably one of Oliver’s favorite people in the whole world. He would smile and laugh every time he caught a glimpse of him, and he even fell asleep in his arms. We think it is because Bubba looks like a big ol’ teddy bear:
When we arrived in Madison, we immediately went to see my Mom, Dad and Sarah. This was my Dad’s first time meeting his new grandson, so of course he had to conduct a thorough inspection:
Oliver was all smiles for his Grandma and Auntie. He certainly knows how to win over the ladies:
Later that day, Oliver met his Great Meemaw and Great PawPaw. Meemaw was so excited to finally meet him and “chuck his chin” that she did an honest-to-goodness happy dance. PawPaw was grinning from ear-to-ear as Oliver jabbered away at him.
Oliver also got to meet his Aunt Annie (Robby’s wife), his cousins, Travis and Wyatt, and his Great-Great Aunt Sally. For some reason we did not capture any photos of Oliver with them, but I promise they were mutually excited to finally become acquainted!
